Genesis 40 continues the story of Joseph in prison, where he encounters two of Pharaoh’s officials - the cupbearer and the baker - who are troubled by their dreams. Demonstrating his faith and spiritual insight, Joseph interprets their dreams, accurately predicting the restoration of the cupbearer to his position and the unfortunate execution of the baker. Despite his service, Joseph’s request to the cupbearer to remember him and mention his unjust imprisonment to Pharaoh goes unheeded initially. This chapter not only showcases Joseph's unwavering faith in God amidst his own challenging circumstances but also sets the stage for his future rise in Egypt.
