The Power of Vision: Seeing Through God's Eyes
Gen 27:1 …his eyes were dim, so that he could not see...
Amazing, isn’t it? Such a huge mistake a little vision would have avoided! Pro 29:18a says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” Isaac tried his best to discern the situation with his other senses; he listened to Jacob’s voice, he felt of his hands, he smelled of his neck, and he even tasted his soup, and yet against his better judgment, because of a lack of vision, he was unable to get the clarity he really needed to make a sound decision. There is no substitute for vision! All of your other senses, as good as they may be, cannot do together what vision can do alone! Our vision must be clear if we are to navigate life’s journey and achieve the success God intended for us! So much hinges off of your vision: your focus, your attention, your goals, your dreams, your direction, and your decisions. Remember that your heart will always follow your eyes; therefore, how do we ensure that our vision is clear and concise? We go to the Word of God! When you use God’s Word, you’re given God’s perspective and God’s outlook on things! When this happens, you have no other alternative but to succeed! Look to the Bible today, and allow the Holy Spirit to renew your eyes, that seeing you may see, and hearing you may understand! Just like the blind man in Mark 8, God doesn’t just want us to “see men as trees walking”, but He wants us to see “every man clearly”! Now, once we see clearly, we need to “lift UP” our eyes on the fields which are white already to harvest (John 4:35)! 20/20 vision will never do us any good if we never lift UP our eyes! When you move your eyes off of your problems and up to the heavens, your focus shifts from one isolated fixation point to a vast canvas of endless possibilities! As in the words of the Psalmist David, “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.” Fix your eyes on Jesus, and He will NEVER mislead you!
