Embracing Divine Confirmation in Our Weakest Moments
Psalm 68:9
Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain, whereby thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary.
After meditating and studying the subject of faith throughout the Bible, I have noticed a pattern; the Lord always waits until the most significant moments to deliver His people out of trouble! This pattern has also played out in my own life on many occasions. I have come to the conclusion that in our weakest moments, when it seems like we’re going down for the last time, is when we need to be most jubilant; for these are the times in which the Lord magnifies Himself greatly in our lives. Notice the phrase “thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary.” We do not need confirmation when we are strong! Our Heavenly Father knows just when to send His Word like rain upon our thirsty souls. At times this journey of faith will lead us into treacherous territory, where, if we do not occasionally get confirmation from the Lord, will also lead us to believe that we’ve made a mistake. However, isn’t it just like the Lord to confirm His Word in our weakest moments? Hallelujah! Paul said in 2 Cor 12:10b, “…for when I am weak, then am I strong.” Like an archer tests the strength of his bow, so the Lord tests the strength of our faith. The very instant just before the archer releases his arrow, the bow has the most pressure applied to it at any point during the process, only to realize its greatest strength when at last the arrow is propelled! Dear reader, get ready for your release! The pressure is on, and your strength is almost gone, but Your Heavenly Father is prepared to release some things out of your life and propel some things into your future that you’ve only dreamed of up to this point! It is at our breaking point that we are endued with power from on high; we are not supplied with strength in moments of leisure, but in moments of stress! Ps 68:13 goes on to say, “Though ye have lien among the pots, yet shall ye be as the wings of a dove covered with silver, and her feathers with yellow gold.” You may have lien among the pots as well; this speaks of lamentation and distress. In Job’s trial, he found himself in this very place, scraping sores on his body with broken pieces of pottery. Yet, even Job said in Job 23:10, “But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.” Deliverance SHALL come!
