Overview
Matthew Chapter 2 describes the visit of the Magi, or wise men, who follow a star to find and worship the newborn King of the Jews, bringing Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. King Herod, feeling threatened, seeks to kill the child and orders the massacre of all boys in Bethlehem under two years old. An angel warns Joseph in a dream to flee to Egypt, where the family stays until Herod's death. Upon returning, they settle in Nazareth, fulfilling various prophecies and demonstrating God's guidance and protection in the early life of Jesus.
