Week 3, Day 20: The Spirit’s Fruit of Faith and Gift of Prophecy
- Genesis 41:16 And Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, It is not in me: God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace.
- Insight: In Genesis 41:16, Joseph demonstrates complete reliance on God, acknowledging that the ability to interpret Pharaoh’s dream comes not from himself but from God. This reflects the Fruit of Faith (Galatians 5:22, KJV)—“love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance”—a Spirit-produced trust in God’s power and promises.
This passage also highlights the Gift of Prophecy (1 Corinthians 12:10), where divine revelation is given to communicate God’s will. Joseph’s ability to interpret dreams foreshadows the Spirit’s work in empowering believers to proclaim God’s truth with clarity and boldness. The combination of faith and prophecy demonstrates how the Holy Spirit works both inwardly to grow our trust in God and outwardly to speak His purposes into the world.
- Prayer: Thank God for the Holy Spirit, who grows the Fruit of Faith in your life and grants the Gift of Prophecy to proclaim His truth. Praise Him for His faithfulness to reveal His will and equip His people for ministry. Pray for the Spirit to deepen your faith, to give you boldness to speak His truth, and to use you as a vessel for His purposes in your community.
Close with this prayer from Acts 4:29-30:
"And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, by stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus." May the Spirit empower you to grow in faith and speak boldly for His glory.
